Chic all over town

red helmet

I wasn't happy with the pic above when I took it in May. Slightly out of focus and there is that, umm, helmet thing. But things change and so do cyclists. As you can see below, the helmet is gone now...the MUP is a pretty safe place to cycle after all.

Not quick enough

Chic cyclists can cycle by at any time and you need to be ready. Sometimes they're too fast for me. I was enjoying a coffee at a cafe on Bank Street...close, but not fast enough.

too fast

I was walking to meet my own chic cyclist after work when this stylist went by...shutter speed not quite fast enough! But we'll keep trying.

University chic

There's an s-shaped ramp at the University of Ottawa near the lights that cross Colonel By Drive. Here you can see a number of cyclists ascending and descending the ramp while avoiding pedestrians. I saw as many as a dozen at one time. There were moments when it seemed almost choreographed!

That white on the rear fender usually signifies a Raleigh bicycle but I am open to a correction.

It's official!

Ottawa Cycle Chic is officially part of the cycle chic world and we now have a new red and white logo (no doubt inspired by our red and white Bixis). So it seems only fitting to include a couple of pictures of the creator of the original Copenhagen Cycle Chic Blog, Mikael Colville-Andersen, who was in town last week to give a talk.
